Tranmere to host Everton U-21 in EFL Trophy

Tranmere Rovers will host Everton U-21 in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday 20 August 2024. Both sides have landed in Group A (Northern) of the competition, alongside Accrington Stanley and Stockport County.

Last season, Rovers finished bottom of Group D after losing all 3 of their fixtures against Wigan Athletic, Fleetwood and Leicester City U-21.

Despite last season’s record, hope isn’t lost for Rovers to progress in the cup. So far in 2024/25, Rovers have drawn both of their first two league matches and beat Accrington Stanley (who’s in Group A with Rovers) 3 - 0 at Prenton Park to progress to the Second Round of the Carabao Cup (EFL/League Cup).

The match will be televised live on Sky Sports+, and is set to kick-off at 7pm.
