Rovers secure victory late on in pre-season friendly against Rochdale A.F.C.

A dramatic late goal secured victory for the SWA over Rochdale A.F.C. in a 5-goal thriller pre-season friendly.

The match started off with a bang as Louisa Murphy gave Rovers a 1 - 0 lead just 8 minuets into the fixture. Tranmere held onto the lead until the 32nd minuet when Rochdale's number 9 equalised the scoreboard.

Nine minuets later, Rochdale had turned the match around. They were now in the lead thanks to their number 9 scoring their 2nd goal of the game. Shortly after the half-time whistle was blown and each manager had a chance to speak to their players.

After the break the second-half got underway, and it couldn't have started better for Rovers who scored in the 47th minuet. The match was level, and with so much time left both teams were determined to score the winner.

Nothing would happen until the 87th minuet, time was almost up and it was a race against the clock. Rovers won a corner, the ball was crossed to Ellie Howard who headed it into the back of Rochdale's net to secure victory for the SWA.

Just a few moments later the full-time whistle was called, and Tranmere had won the fixture 3 - 2 over Rochdale.
